“Tiger King” zookeeper Erik Cowie discovered useless in Brooklyn condo

EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) – A zookeeper from the Netflix series “Tiger King” was found dead in an apartment in Brooklyn.

Police say they found Erik Cowie, 52, passed out last Friday in the bedroom of a house on East 55th Street in East Flatbush.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cowie appeared on the Netflix show last year as one of the zoo’s tiger keepers, run by the man who calls himself Joe Exotic. Its real name is Joseph Maldonado Passage.

Maldonado-Passage has been convicted of attempted murder and of violating the Endangered Species Act.

Cowie testified against him at the trial.

An autopsy should clarify Cowie’s cause of death.
