The Maafa is back for the 26th time. The annual event makes it possible to reflect on the African journey through the Middle Passage and the slave trade.

Due to the pandemic, this year’s event will be shown in a new short film rather than a live play that is normally held in the Brooklyn Church.

Rev. David Brawley, pastor of St. Paul Community Baptist Church, told us more about the event.

Visit the company’s website for more information about the film and the event.
