The 11th annual Wine and Meals Pageant toasts Brooklyn and the Caribbean
The 11th annual Toast of Brooklyn Wine & Food Festival brings fine wines, spirits and culinary specialties to Brooklyn on Saturday, November 10th.
The festival combines the eclectic tastes of Brooklyn’s culinary landscape with some of the finest potions from local and international liquor enthusiasts of old and new brands, as well as an eclectic selection of bold reds and delicious whites from premium wineries.
Live cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs and specialty restaurants seduce the palate of festival goers with hors-d’oeuvres and artisanal samples at live jazz performances.
For this year’s food lineup, Toast of Brooklyn is partnering with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) to feature chefs and cuisines from various Caribbean countries, including Jamaican chef Wenford Simpson and celebrity chef Shorne Benjamin from St. Lucia. The festival also welcomes a special culinary guest, Chef Indeed, who has appeared on the Food Network and will be featured by Guy Fieri in the upcoming Grocery Games season.
To get another “foretaste” of the islands, the CTO will hold a silent auction where attendees can bid for plane tickets to Caribbean destinations and resorts. Proceeds from the auction will go to the organization’s scholarship fund, which supports students still recovering from the effects of the 2017 hurricanes.
This food, wine and spirits festival takes place in two sessions: from 12.30pm to 4.30pm; and from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $ 60 and are available here.
