Shootout in Brooklyn: Police officer fires shot in fireworks argument

EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (WABC) – An investigation is ongoing after an off duty police officer fired a shot during an argument in Brooklyn that appears to have started over illegal fireworks.

The incident began at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night near the intersection of Martenese Street and Rogers Avenue in the East Flatbush neighborhood.

The off duty officer may have run over illegal fireworks.

The police say that a group of people attacked him.

He responded with a shot, but no one was hit.

No arrests were made.
