Girl trying to find misplaced ring after eradicating it on bench in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) – Brooklyn is desperately searched after a young woman misplaces a priceless ring.

A 32-year-old Thanaa’a Edwards was sitting on a bench when she took off her ring and placed it on her lap to put on sunscreen.

As she walked home with bags in hand, she felt something didn’t feel right.

Then she looked down and found that her ring was not on.

The ring is a gemstone with a gold band. It’s only worth a few hundred dollars, but its sentimental value is priceless.

The ring was given to her by her 59-year-old mother, who died of colon cancer last year.

“When I realized the ring wasn’t here, I collapsed,” said Edwards. “I just felt like whenever I had it with me – I brought her wherever I went.”

The woman has gone to local pawn shops, posted on social media and filed a police report of lost and found items, but so far out of luck.

If someone finds the ring, she asks them to email her at [email protected]

“Losing just yourself was traumatic, losing the ring was like losing the ring,” said Edwards. “I would do anything to get the ring back.”
