Deadly crash in Brooklyn: driver killed in a automobile accident in Brooklyn, passenger critically injured

WEEKSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) – One person was killed and another seriously injured in a car crash in Brooklyn early Saturday.

Police say that around 3:20 a.m. near the intersection of Atlantic and Rochester Avenues, a Maserati jumped over a median and then slammed into a pole and went up in flames.

An eyewitness says that when he saw the car he ran towards it and pulled one of the victims out.

“I saw over there like, you know, a car was crushed, so kind of on fire, you know. So I called 911 and then I came quickly and I saw a guy inside, he was crying. So when I saw he was crying for taking this guy, “said the man.

The driver died at the scene of the accident and a 35-year-old man who was believed to be a passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators assume that speed played a role.
