Coronavirus New York Metropolis: Eric Adams, President of the Brooklyn borough, distributes meals and masks to residents

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (WABC) – Brooklyn President Eric Adams ensures that the people he represents get the help they need.

Adams was handing out food at a senior citizen center in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Tuesday.

He also went around the neighborhood handing out masks.

Adams says social distancing enforcement should be left to community leaders after seeing the video of an NYPD official knocking down a viewer during a weekend arrest.

He says he works with community groups so they can educate others about social distancing in positive ways.
