Compelled contact in Brooklyn: surveillance video exhibits man attacking girl on NYC avenue

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (WABC) – Police are looking for a man who was caught on video assaulting a woman, reaching into her shorts and forcibly grabbing her buttocks in Brooklyn on Monday.

As the video above shows, around 8:10 p.m., a 35-year-old woman was walking on Morgan Avenue in the East Williamsburg neighborhood when she noticed a man was following her.

She paused to let the man pass and then moved on.

But he was behind her again when she turned onto Stagg Street.

There, according to the police, he ran up to her from behind, jumped onto her back, wrapped his arms around her neck and took her to the ground before forcibly touching her under her clothes and running away.

The victim was shaken, but refused medical treatment.

Investigate the detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit.

The police asked people to watch the video in the hopes that someone would recognize the man and give them a call.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or in Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
