The directors of Brookdale Hospital in Brownsville and a local doing good group handed over 100 toys to Tykes in a star-studded giveaway Tuesday.

Notable musicians joined in with the New York Giants soccer stars in the sixth annual Christmas in Brooklyn event, which, according to an organizer, brought much-needed joy to teenagers currently in hospital.

“The joy I see on children’s faces is priceless,” said Meda Leacock, founder of the I Am Wonda Woman Foundation, a mentoring organization that cares for teenage girls in Brooklyn and Queens.

Kind-hearted locals donated dozens of toys, books, and stuffed animals, the Leacock, Pols, and civic gurus – including Rep. Walter Mosley (D-Bedford-Stuyvesant) and 43rd Congregation District Leader Geoffrey Davis – to the children during the bash, which also included a puppet show That included food and a dance party, Leacock said.

And professional athletes like Giants player Deon Grant and boxer Bruce Carrington, as well as hip-hop stars Lil Cease and Fetty Luciano, shook hands to distribute the gifts to the eager little ones – some of whom had the chance to see Grant’s Super Bowl to see According to Leacock, the XLVI championship rings at close range.

The celebrations helped even the shyest pint-sized patients get out of their bowls and the time it took to put the event together was well worth it, she said.

“There was a kid who just didn’t want to speak, didn’t want to laugh, but when we gave him a big truck and he saw the box, his face lit up – that’s priceless,” said Leacock.
