Tuesday night was special for gun violence advocates in Brooklyn.

The 67th District Clergy Council celebrated the 11th anniversary of Godsquad, a devout organization that works to end gun violence in the community.

Tuesday night’s fundraiser aimed to raise $ 100,000 to support the organization in all of their work and to highlight what has been accomplished in over a decade.

Families who lost their lives to gun violence filled the seats. Activists and elected officials were honored for their support, including the mayor.

They also introduced the city’s first Clergy Crisis Response Mobile Unit. The vehicle will help activists respond more quickly to incidents where they are needed.
