Caught on digital camera: suspect knocks man to the ground whereas allegedly swiping pockets in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police are trying to identify a person who was caught on camera stealing a man’s wallet last month in Brooklyn.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on June 24th.

According to police, a 63-year-old man was crossing Kings Highway on East 17th Street when someone appeared behind him and allegedly pulled his wallet out of his back pocket.

The video shows the man turning around and fighting the suspect. Both then fall to the ground before the suspect runs away.

The victim was not seriously injured.

According to police, the suspect is a light-skinned woman between the ages of 15 and 18.
