The owners of an indoor tennis club in Brooklyn are planning to open a location in Queens, Long Island City.
Court 16, a private club that offers tennis lessons, tennis camps and space for adults and children, is being renovated and opened in a warehouse at Queens Plaza 13-06, according to the developer Roberta Gratz.
The company submitted plans to the Department of Buildings on Thursday to renovate the 11,097-square-foot warehouse to include five tennis courts, plus a seating area and several offices.
Court 16’s Brooklyn location offers private and group tennis lessons, court rentals, and camps for children, as well as hosting a variety of off-room events and birthday parties.
Annual Brooklyn Club membership for a child and their two parents, excluding the cost of tuition or rent, is $ 350 per year, and a premium version is $ 500 with additional benefits.
Tuition starts at $ 32 per half hour group lesson and $ 74 per half hour private lesson. Court rental costs $ 50 for an hour, including use of clubs and balls.
A representative of Court 16 did not respond to the request for comment.
