Brooklyn taking pictures: Suspect shot useless by NYPD officers in Bushwick
BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) – Three men were shot dead outside a liquor store in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Thursday night, and police officers who responded fatally shot the alleged shooter.
The victims – ages 27, 39 and 40 – were shot dead outside the Boardwalk Wine and Spirits on Halsey Street around 10:30 p.m.
The victims sent police officers to see the suspect, who was found one block on Wilson Avenue.
The man refused to drop his gun and when he “raised the gun in their direction” they opened fire.
The 53-year-old suspect was beaten and pronounced dead at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
He has had seven previous arrests, including gun possession and robbery.
His weapon was recovered at the scene, as were three other firearms.
The two officers and a sergeant, all in uniform and firing, were taken to Woodhull Hospital for ringing in their ears, but were not otherwise injured.
The three initially shot people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
