Brooklyn Hearth injures 2 after flames ripped by way of dwelling in Sheepshead Bay

SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (WABC) – Two people were injured after a fire broke out in a Brooklyn home Thursday night.

FDNY officials said they received a call about a two-alarm house fire at 2299 Gerritsen Ave in Sheepshead Bay around 8 p.m.

The Citizen app video captured the huge flames that burned through the two-story house.

The New York Racing Association says two horses died as a result of a fire on the back straight in Belmont Park on Long Island.

According to official reports, two people suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

The fire was brought under control.

There are no details yet on how the fire started.

Firefighters not only had to fight the flames, but also a severe mess in the building, apparently on all floors.
