The Industry City landing once again hosted the Brooklyn Crush Wine & Artisanal Food Festival: Fall Edition.
The event, which took place on November 10th, was a success.
“This year was the fifth and biggest of all time,” said Sam Kimball, who founded New York Wine Events in 2014. We had almost 600 people per session, so it was about 1,200 people. Participants were able to sample a selection of wines and cider from around the world, as well as light dishes such as appetizers and cheese, bread and crackers.
Part of the focus, however, was on Brooklyn-made food and drink.
“I started the event in November 2014 with the intent to bring a world class wine event and festival to Brooklyn and I quickly realized that if we didn’t make the event an event, we really couldn’t stay true to this mission Some of these incorporated the amazing food manufacturers in the Brooklyn area, “explained Kimball. “Brooklyn is obviously the hub for food and creative culture in New York City. There were 80 tasting stations at the event; The diverse selection included strong, jammy and complex red wines. Oak, steel, butter and dry white wines; plus some sweet and sparkling varieties.
“It’s just an explosion of artisanal food and drink,” enthused Kimball. “And that’s the magic of Brooklyn Crush. It’s not just a wine event. I think that’s really the DNA of that. “
Kimball was also excited to host the growing event on the shores of Sunset Park.
“We have an amazing partnership with Industry City,” he said. “There is obviously a force with the growing presence of innovative companies all coming together on one large campus.”
