Police say a 30-year-old man has died after being shot dead overnight in Brooklyn.

Police said they reacted to a house on Avenue D between New York Avenue and East 34th Street at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. The victim was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim’s family told News 12 that he was smoking outside a house when another family member heard him say “What the …” and then heard five gunshots. His family also say he has three children – two young twins and a 12-year-old. He moved to Brooklyn from North Carolina a year ago. His cousin says she doesn’t understand who would do this.

Investigators are looking for two or three men who were last seen driving away in a white Grand Cherokee Jeep.

The police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
